Scope and Content Note From the Collection: In 2007, Bates College student Mariah Pfeiffer wrote Visions and the Valley: A Reconstructed History of the Androscoggin River and its Industrial Communities, a senior Honors Thesis on the social and political effects of economic change in the Androscoggin River Valley. Pfeiffer conducted over a dozen oral histories in the summer of 2006 for her thesis.
