Scope and Content Note

The collection contains a variety of material chronicling the graduating classes of the College. Includes correspondence, particularly concerning reunion planning; class letters and reunion booklets; photographs; scrapbooks, photograph albums and slides. Other material includes Senior Class Day programs and addresses; commencement, baccalaureate and Ivy Day programs; peace pipes and issues of the Bates Student and local newspaper.

The collection is the physical property of Edmund S. Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library. Abstract

The collection contains material chronicling the history of the graduating classes of the College. The material includes general class records such as class letters, reunion booklets, correspondence, scrapbooks and photograph albums. Also includes material from time capsules, such as programs and addresses.

Organization and Arrangement

The records are arranged into two series, General Records and Time Capsules. Individual folders are arranged thereafter chronologically by class year. See each series note for more detailed information.
