The collection is the physical property of Edmund S. Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library. [From the Bates website.] The Multicultural Center acknowledges, celebrates, and promotes the diverse cultural experiences that each member of Bates College brings to the community. The Center acts as a catalyst for exploring critical issues on campus by initiating discussions about race, class, ethnicity, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and the historical and current realities that impact understanding of these topics.
