These records contain correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes and agenda, committee files, reports, event programs, travel and financial documents, and publications. There is some correlation and overlap with the files of President Don Harward, CA 02.08, but the records have not been checked for duplication. These records are the office files of Bill Hiss, and some of the material herein predates his appointment as the V.P. for External Affairs.

The office of Vice President for External Affairs is part of the President's office, and supervises the Office of Career Services, handles federal and state government relations, national and regional press relations, and does alumni, fundraising, and communications work for the College.
