Scope and Content Note
These six letters were written to several members of the Freewill Baptist denomination during the time he was president of the General Conference. He also served as president of Hillsdale College in Ann Arbor, Michigan from 1902-1922. One of the letters was written to J.W. Lucas concerning his thoughts on a proposed school in Unicoi, Tennessee.
