This subseries contains the correspondence of various family members including letters written between George F. Murdock, his wife Vira and others, during his World War I service with the YMCA (1917-1919); letters written by Stanley Freeman Jr. during his years as a Bates College student (1943-1944; 1946-1948) and during his service in World War II (1945-1946). Also contains correspondence between Dorothy and Stanley and Madeleine Freeman and letters between Rachel Carson and Stanley Freeman Sr.
