Scope and Content Note
This subseries contains drafts of 20 short stories written by Dorothy Freeman between 1951-1962. Also contains extensive notes about Rachel Carson for a talk Freeman gave to the Coastal Club of the Boothbay area (1975), and notes Freeman made about her experience of scattering Carson's ashes. Also includes notes for talks Freeman gave to the Campfire Girls (1975), and the Boothbay Garden Club (1963); a variety of notes and clippings collected by Freeman, some of which are annotated by Rachel Carson; and a number of Dorothy's notebooks containing addresses, Christmas card lists, bird sightings and notes on a variety of subjects.

For Dorothy Freeman letters, or other Freeman materials, copyright and literary rights are owned by the Freeman family.
