Scope and Content Note
This subseries contains correspondence from a large number of Dorothy's friends and includes some of Dorothy's letters returned to the family after her death in 1978. Correspondents include: Paul Brooks, Rachel Carson's editor, (1969-1977); Marie Rodell, Rachel Carson's literary agent (1964); Anne Cottrell Free, journalist (1969-1978), Helen Hayes, actress (1968), Robert Hines, artist (1967-1977) and Nona Schurman, modern dance teacher and choreographer (1974-1978). This subseries also includes letters written by Dorothy as part of a 'round-robin', a group of her classmates at Framingham State College who shared letters as well as a few letters she wrote to her husband's Lambda Chi round-robin after his death.
