The Squall, 1944 - 1945

This series consists of issues of "The Squall," (1944-45) a newsletter published by members of the Bates V-12 program. It reported the news and social events of the unit. There are also issues of a newsletter compiled by Dana Smith, a former Bates V-12 member (1984-2007). The Dana Smith newsletters are a mix of the past and present; they contain current information, letters, and photographs from former V-12 members as well as photocopies of "The Squall," personal photographs and photocopies of images from the Bates Historic Photograph Collection.
